My son and i have been testing the bounds of our digital world. He suggested i write my blog about our time at the game from my phone while he takes the permit test in faribault. Nothing says 2024 quite like driving to a small town for a digital DMV test while broadcasting your opinions from a 2x5 inch device.
Let's jump in.
I was excited for the game. It was a perfect night for baseball and almost immediately the Twins got on the board. Max Kepler had just been activated from a rehab assignment. He was atrocious the first few games of the season getting just 1 hit in 2 at bats. I was hopeful.
After the first two getting out, l'arrache got on and subsequent to that Jeffers did also. Kepler was up- 2 on, 2 out and his first at bat in several weeks. He stroked the first pitch into the gap in right center.
The sparse crowd roared and I just about lost my voice telling anyone around me who might listen that "obviously" the reason he was so bad before the regal was the contusion.
The twins only ever needed those two runs. He came up in the 3rd and singled and scored. I told my son that the Twins needed to beat up on the White Sox while they can to get their swing and confidence back.
Paddack was spectacular. 10 k's and only one hit I recall that even got into the outfield. The singles were all knocked down in the infield without a throw.
It was a great game ok a great night. It was canine night so there were also a lot of dogs. Thankfully none of them in the Twins dugout.
Stats:
Kepler 2-4 2RBI run
Julien, 5th HR
Paddack 7IP, 10k, (w)
Twins 7, Sox 0
Next uo: twins tonight 4/23
