Helping Kids...
Schools
Some of you may know that I used to work for Minneapolis Public Schools. I was honored to work for them, and had some of the most incredible colleagues and phenomenal students. I also found challenges I tried to shine light on.

The desire by some in schools to hide rather than solve some of the issues I encountered led me to realize that good teachers alone cannot help kids out of the struggles of 21st century life, we need structural change to meet the needs of the community.

I plan on being a part of that change.

45th Parallel
Teaching Homeless and Highly Mobile youth taught me many things, the first one was that many children simply don't know how to keep warm, even if they have family around. This led to the idea of the 45th parallel: a winter gear clothing line that gives back to the community. Please follow here to learn more:

Children First
Our laws are geared toward protecting adults and businesses. This isn't a philosophy, it's a fact.

Over time, there have been worker's rights (which is why I'm so proud to be a member of two unions: SAG and MFT59) put forward into legislation along with those protecting housing and jobs.

Unfortunately, through all of this, advocacy for children has always been a secondary idea to all of these others. This can no longer be.

I advocate for children on multiple levels given what we have built in america: through business, education and family... AND by changing laws. Work with me to change fundamental laws regarding parental responsibility as well as societal responsibility to children.
